Using Spell Spell

Play it, enjoy it, tell people about it. There is no charge and nothing to sign up for. We ask only that you do not try to break it for everyone else: no scraping, no automated play, no hammering the servers.

Your progress

Scores and streaks live in your browser. We cannot restore them if you clear your browser data, change device or use a private window, because we never had a copy. See privacy.

The answers

A human reviews every accepted spelling, and we still get things wrong. If a spelling you believe in is turned away, flag it. We may add it, and if we do, the game changes for everyone from then on. Nothing we say about a spelling is a ruling on how you should spell in real life.

Availability

We will do our best to have a new word every day. Sometimes a server falls over. There is no guarantee of uptime and no promise the game will run forever.

The content

The puzzles, the explanations, the name and the design belong to Spell Spell. You are welcome to share your results and to talk about the game anywhere you like. Please do not republish the puzzle content as your own.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so on the site rather than quietly swapping the page.
